Prayer Requests
Collective Prayers
“Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the very Spirit intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.” Romans 8:26
Let us pray together…
- For our college and graduate students finishing degrees; that God would lead them into good work and rest—joining in the joyful yoke of Jesus.
- For each other here at Park Street Church; that we would remember Christ’s resurrection during this Easter season and look for ways that he leads us into our new life as his followers.
- For Mayor Michelle Wu and the government of Boston; that God would give them wisdom in how to manage this city for the benefit of all.
- For those suffering under addiction of all kinds; that through the call and power of the Holy Spirit God would meet their deepest needs and free them from enslavement.

Board of Elders Update
Here are some brief updates from the Board of Elders:
- Board Training in March: We had board training with an experienced consultant on March 8-9 that focused on principles of and best practices for governance for church boards. This was a valuable and insightful time for the newly constituted board which included significant sharing on how we can be more faithful and effective in our role. We are already implementing some of the learning that took place during this training.
- Update on Vicinage Council: Members will recall from the Moderator’s email of March 15 that this council is an aspect of congregational polity where a local church seeks the guidance and counsel of sister churches. Our Vicinage Council is chaired by the Conference Minister of the Conservative Congregational Christian Conference (“CCCC”) and composed of several other ministers he chose from churches in our vicinity. It is assessing the charges brought against the Senior Minister by our former Associate Minister and our Board’s process in addressing those charges. The Vicinage Council will be meeting with us next week to present their findings. We expect there will be broader communication based on the findings of the Vicinage Council.
- Update on VOCA Center: Having shared with members two major themes from its report in our video of February 15, we have not shared further details in order to support the work VOCA is doing among our staff. As the Moderator shared with members in his March 15 email, VOCA is working toward a restorative plan with our staff, which has included meetings with any staff member, which many ministers have taken advantage of, including our Senior Minister. Though those meetings are confidential to VOCA and the individual, we have been glad to hear from many who say the conversations are helpful.
Be on the lookout for more regular communications from us. We also want to remind you that minutes of our meetings are available on the Church Center app. Please reach out to Mike Ahearn if you have any difficulty locating them.
We are praying for you, and we welcome your ongoing prayers for us as we seek to faithfully serve Jesus and this church.
Congratulations, 2024 Graduates!
